Age 56. Harvard Business School, Cornell University Engineering. After retiring from my consulting business in the computer storage industry a few years ago, I’m busier than ever. I have a daughter in college, a son in 6th grade and am on several non-profit boards of directors (Butterfly Pavilion, OUR Center). I enjoy gardening, botanical water coloring, backpacking, and Insanity DVD workouts…or rather, the feeling of accomplishment AFTER I finish an Insanity workout!
I began my running career in high school as the only girl on the boys track team, before Title IX, and although I didn’t beat many boys, I sure made them all run faster! My major running accomplishments include 35 marathons (some people never learn!), including 3 first place finishes, a PR of 3:03:33, and all Boston qualifiers with one exception – I was a tad off my pace in the Pikes Peak marathon. I specialize in being a “big fish in a small pond,” typically winning or placing in my age group from 5Ks to marathons. I just qualified for a guaranteed entry in the 2012 NYC marathon – a big deal for me! And as one of the more senior members of the RWRF team, I take my role as Rear Guard very seriously – I make everyone else look fast! (Actually, they ARE fast!)
